Venue: The Hilton Hotel, Portsmouth

The Education Business Partnership (EBP) in Portsmouth is hosting a free half-day conference for businesses which explains the new 14-19 Diplomas. Conference speakers include Declan Swan, Chief Executive of the National EBP Network and Tony Cohen, Managing Director of NsureLtd.

With the introduction of the 14 -19 Diplomas the education system is about to go through a radical change to ensure that we shape the workforce for the 21st Century - by studying for a Diploma young people, through a combination of theoretical and practical learning, will gain the skills, knowledge, experience and employability skills needed for your particular employment sector.

Developed by employers, for employers, the Diplomas will be taught in 17 disciplines including, Engineering, Creative & Media, Construction, Hospitality & Catering to name just a few.

Having completed a Diploma young people can either then choose to enter the workforce and/or attend university. Diplomas are being phased into schools and colleges over the next few years. There has never been a better time for employers to get involved in education - the new Diplomas provide employers with a strong voice to develop a truly demand-led skills system that they require.

This conference is designed specifically for senior managers of local employers to help them to find out more about the 14 - 19 Diplomas and how they can get involved. The conference is followed by a networking lunch.
