Marine South East enhances its Dubai offer

dubai boat show

The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) marine sector is exhibiting strong year-on-year growth, presenting substantial export opportunities for marine businesses in southeast England. Dubai is set to emerge as one of the world’s most competitive maritime clusters, and with its world-class infrastructure and effective government support, Dubai has the potential to play a pivotal role in the regional and international maritime industry. It offers proximity to customers and suppliers, potential for business growth in a rapidly developing environment, easy accessibility, a developed port infrastructure and a convenient time zone.

Over £415 million is being invested in the building of Dubai Maritime City, the worlds first purpose built maritime centre. The 227 hectare integrated, mixed-use development is currently under construction on a man-made peninsula, and will encompass commercial, industrial, academic and residential components, and one of the emirate's largest marinas.

Dubai has the potential to emerge as a global maritime financing hub, and increasing ship financing and brokerage facilities will be influential in attracting ship owners and brokers to Dubai. There is an increasing requirement for security provision within the UAE's ports and Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

Marine South East (MSE), in conjunction with South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), has opened an office in Dubai to support members' marine interests across the UAE. In addition to a fully staffed office, MSE is offering members introductions to carefully selected prospective clients and the opportunity to have their own presence in Dubai.
