MareNet Event - Training, Apprentices and Workforce Development in the Marine Sector, Tuesday 29th April 2008 – 3-7pm

Marine South East will be partnering Flagship Training and Gosport Borough Council to bring you this comprehensive Training, Apprentices and Workforce Development in the Marine Sector MareNet event taking place on Tuesday 29th April 2008 from 3.00pm to 7.00pm at HMS Sultan.

The event will include a unique opportunity for marine companies to tour the extensive and wide-ranging training facilities at HMS Sultan, including the wood working training workshop, GRP and composites training facilities and the main engineering machine shop.

A variety of speakers will provide information on the opportunities and support for training, workforce development and apprentices in the marine sector including specific presentations on:

- A general introduction to Flagship Training including their partnering agreement with the Royal Navy and its training schools
- Flagship's Apprenticeship scheme
- The recently launched Flagship Superyacht Academy offering superyacht crew training, development and sourcing
- Technical training opportunities for the marine sector at HMS Sultan
- How marine companies can access funding for training
- Marine South East marine apprentice training initiative

The event will conclude with a networking reception over drinks and canapés in Flagship's 'buzzing hub' interactive training area and is free for all marine companies to attend.
