COLUMBUS Knowledge Transfer Project announces conference dates

The EU funded COLUMBUS, Knowledge Transfer project has announced two major conference dates for 2017 and 2018.

Marine South East has a lead role in the project delivery of the COLUMBUS project, especially the commercialisation potential for publicly funded research.

Registration for the two conferences will be opening soon.

Achieving Impact from Marine Research will take place 6th-7th November 2017 in Brussels.

This international forum will bring together actors interested in sharing best practice and learning about initiatives and sectoral progress in Knowledge Transfer.

The conference will offer an opportunity to collaboratively explore the barriers, challenges and possible solutions to achieving the impact potential of marine and maritime research, at all stages of the funding cycle. Training on the COLUMBUS Knowledge Transfer methodology will be available, targeted towards EU staff and funding agencies.

The second conference will be:

Making Marine and Maritime Science Count 23rd - 24th January 2018 Location: Brussels

This final COLUMBUS annual event will provide an opportunity to discover and celebrate the COLUMBUS Knowledge Transfer methodology and its activities. It will bring together
partners, collaborators and interested parties to highlight Knowledge Transfer case studies and lessons learned through the work performed by the COLUMBUS project.
This international event will also host the launch of the COLUMBUS Knowledge Transfer handbook and recommendations for European and national funding agencies to embed
Knowledge Transfer systems in current and future funding mechanisms. Training on the COLUMBUS Knowledge Transfer methodology will be offered and will be targeted towards
scientists and project managers.
