Marine Management Organisation launch public consultation on Regional and National Marine Plans

The draft Marine Plans for all UK regions, which collectively make up the Government National Marine Plans and Strategy for the next 25 year are now available for consultation and comment.

The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) has completed the draft Regional Marine Plans and has made them available for public consultation. It is important that businesses and organisations review the plans and respond with comments on areas of concern or if they feel the plans have not taken into account considerations that could benefit the industry in the future.

A draft Marine Plan becomes a Statutory Consideration once published, so if no comments or feedback are received it will become statutory legislation once the consultation is over and the plans are published. The consultation is only open for twelve weeks and closes on 6th April 2020.

This is an important opportunity as an industry to comment and be a part of the decision-making progress. It will make up the national marine development for the next 25 years and is part of your future.

Links to all the Marine Plans and how to submit your comments can be found at the following location:

The Marine Plans are in line with the UK Marine Policy Statement. Any questions regarding the consultation can be sent to the MMO Planning team on
