Development of technical profiles and training curriculum for the ports and logistics sector

The European ONBOARD project, of which Marine South East is a partner, is aiming to design and validate an apprenticeship model for the ports and logistics sector.

The project partners recently met in Ireland to exchange their thoughts and discuss further developments related to the next steps and activities of the project. Also, the discussions allowed the definition of a detailed work plan for the next period of the project, namely:

* The national workshops and interviews being performed in Portugal, Ireland and the United Kingdom, currently, for the validation of the qualification profiles and training curricula for the ports and logistics sector;

* The Apprenticeships' Model to support and guide educational & training organizations and companies of the sector, to strengthen the cooperation and communication in all stages of an apprenticeships' schemes;

* The training of professionals of the apprenticeships' schemes, endowing them with the necessary knowledge and tools to better support trainees at the workplace. With it, it is fostered better cooperation between educational & training organizations, trainees and companies of the apprenticeship's schemes.
