Find out about the Business Opportunities for Multi-Use Platforms at sea, 4th July 2018, at Seawork Southampton

Marine South East will be hosting a workshop to introduce the concept of multi-use platforms at seas (MUPS), to explore their potential uses and the business opportunities for the supply and value chains. The workshop will take place on Wednesday 4th July 2018 at 10am at Seawork in Southampton, Conference Room 2.

The workshop is hoping to attract people who want to learn more about future applications of offshore platforms, the critical requirements for building and operating them, and to understand the diversification opportunities they present for marine companies.

Topics that will be discussed include the technical and economic feasibility of large floating offshore platforms that can support multiple marine energy devices and other competing revenue generating activities.

Multi-use platforms and their activities have the potential to generate significant new global business opportunities for companies involved with:

* Design and engineering
* Production and fabrication
* Installation and decommissioning
* Operation and maintenance
* Equipment supply
* Sensing and remote monitoring systems
* ICT infrastructure

Potential uses for Multi-use platforms are wind, wave and current renewable energy, aquaculture, port facilities and security but there are many more.

The platforms would need support facilities such as service craft similar to wind-farm support craft and vessels to transport aquaculture production.

This open workshop will be hosted by Marine South East under the auspices of ENTROPI and OPEC which are European funded projects looking at Multi-Use Platforms at Sea. The workshop will take place on Wednesday 4th July 2018 in Conference Room 2 at Seawork in Southampton. To register your place please click on the link below:
