Accelerating Growth: Accessing the Right Finance & Expertise, 2nd October 2017, Portsmouth

The Space Sector - Think it might not be relevant to your company? Think again!

The UK Government is investing heavily in the Space Sector and just this year 99m was announced to fund a National Satellite Testing Facility in Oxfordshire, plus an additional 4m for a National Space Propulsion Facility.

The Space Sector forms a key part of the Government's Industrial Strategy to spread economic growth across the UK and so there are plenty of exciting opportunities for both space and non-space companies to play a role in this growth and benefit from the impact of these investments.

Owners and directors of start-ups, growing businesses and high-growth SMEs across the Region are invited to attend this event, which will provide expert knowledge on a range of funding options to support the growth of their enterprise. This event is not exclusively for those working in the space-related sector but is for those entrepreneurs who are keen to exploit satellite data services for commercial gain, or those who are wondering what opportunities are available in and around the space sector that could be of interest.

The South Coast Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications event will see a number of high-profile speakers offering their expertise on a range of different funding avenues available to local SMEs and start-ups who are operating not just in the space-related sector but to any company interested in understanding the opportunities the sector has to offer.

Delegates will also get to her about how local marine company ASV became the success it is within the region - a company that you may not think of as space-related, but who uses satellite data as part of its core business and who works in an area of expertise that is very relevant to space.

In addition, we will be launching two unique regional funding opportunities through the Space to Accelerate Programme and the South Coast SME Innovation Initiative.

This event will take place on October 2nd 2017 at the Portsmouth Technopole and is free of charge.
