Invitation to launch event of the Solent Test Facility, 11th and 12th July 2017, Southsea

The National Autonomy Centre and Solent Local Enterprise Partnership is inviting businesses to the launch event of the Solent Test Facility on Tuesday 11th July or Wednesday 12th July.

Set to launch in October 2017 The National Autonomy Centre will be the UK's first autonomy testing service, based in the Solent around Portsmouth, Southampton and the Isle of Wight.

Using unmanned vehicles and command and control systems provided by some of the UK's leading autonomous systems providers, the service will offer third parties the opportunity to test autonomous technologies in a controlled and realistic environment.

The event will feature briefings from partner organisations, live demonstrations and workshop discussions with a chance to see the new facilities close-up. You will gain insight into the potential of the facility through the example use cases and live demonstrations and the team will be on-hand to discuss how we can help you to achieve your goals. The day is structured with ample opportunity for networking.

The National Autonomy Centre is provided by the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership in partnership with a consortium of local companies including partners ASV Global, BAE Systems, Blue Bear Systems Research, Marine Electronic Systems, the National Oceanography Centre and the University of Southampton.

The event is taking place on Tuesday 11th July and Wednesday 12th July 2017 at the Royal Marines Museum, Eastney Esplanade, Southsea, Portsmouth PO4 9PX.

Arrival is from 9.30am for a 10am start with the event concluding around 1pm. Refreshments will be provided and there will be the opportunity for further workshops and discussions in the afternoon.
