Regeneration of Southampton waterside to include offices, light industrial and R&D buildings

Lambert Smith Hampton have announced a major regeneration of the Chapel Riverside area of Southampton which will include high quality offices, light industrial and R&D buildings.

Set on a site area of approximately 9 acres (3.6 hectares), Chapel Riverside will be a mixed-use development of circa 300 residential units and 53,000 sq ft (5,000 sq m) of business space suitable for marine uses and ancillary retail units including general retail, cafes and bars, in an attractive environment.

Business units will take advantage of the waterside setting, with flexible units ranging from 500 sq ft (46 sq m) to 21,000 sq ft (1,950 sq m).

Chapel Riverside is the re-development of the old Town Depot, on the western bank of the River Itchen, north of the Itchen Bridge. Eastern Docks (Dock Gate 4) and the city centre are nearby, approximately half a mile from the development.

Chapel Riverside forms part of the Itchen Riverside Quarter, which is one of Southampton City Council's VIP projects within the City Centre Master Plan (CCMP) and is identified as a key area for economic growth within the City.
