Seawork Awards and Innovations
The 19th successive Seawork reported three successful days of business at it new permanent home in Southampton's Mayflower Park. An Awards and Networking event was held on the first night of Seawork where a number of award winners were announced.
The overall Innovations Showcase Winner (and Propulsion Category Winner) was Duodrive’s for its Duodrivetrain®, a performance engineering product destined for conventional shaft-driven boats below 28m in length.
Other winners included:
* The winner of the Electronics Category: C A Clase UK Ltd for the Lars Thrane LT1000 Navigation Reference Unit.
* The winner of the Safety Category: Spinlock Ltd, for the Lume-On, tiny LED lights attached to a lifejacket’s bladder, which turn the whole lifejacket into a glowing light.
The Seawork Maritime Professional of the Year 2016 was awarded to John Haynes, Managing Director of Shock Mitigation. John is an expert in high speed craft, shock mitigation and hybrid marine power sectors.
