Roadshow: Channel coastal and transitional water ecosystems, 16th June 2016, Caen

Interested parties are invited to attend this cross border event taking place in Caen on 16th June 2016 to explore coastal and transitional water ecosystems in the Channel area.

The protection and enhancement of coastal and transitional water ecosystems is one of the five priorities of the France (Channel) England Programme.

The aim of the event is to learn more about the France (Channel) England programme and understand where coastal and transitional water ecosystems feed into European strategies. The afternoon will focus on creating networking opportunities to generate project ideas and identify potential partners through meetings on the following different thematics.

Registration is available for up to 4 different thematics for delegates attending.

The 19 Sub-thematics are:

ST1: Risks of coastal flooding: mitigation measures, management of flood defines systems and coastal infrastructure (2pm-2.25pm)

ST2: Solid waste prevention and management in coastal areas (2pm-2.25pm)

ST3: Protected areas, integrated management and governance (2pm-2.25pm)

ST4: Environmental impacts of boat careening, anchoring and piling (2pm-2.25pm)

ST5: Expertise and management of coastal seabed (2pm-2.25pm)

ST6: Impacts of flooding and climate change on the environment (2.30pm-2.55pm)

ST7: Agricultural practices and water quality (2.30pm-2.55pm)

ST8: Storm water management (2.30pm-2.55pm)

ST9: Economic activities and resources preservation (2.30pm-2.55pm)

ST10: Controlling movements and management of invasive and toxic species (2.30pm-2.55pm)

ST11: Coastal erosion (3pm-3.25pm)

ST12: River management and flood risks (3pm-3.25pm)

ST13: Emerging pollutants (3pm-3.25pm)

ST14: Aquaculture activities and environment (3pm-3.25pm)

ST15: Flood prevention: reviving the techniques of embankment, hedges and permaculture (3pm-3.25pm)

ST16: Wetlands as buffer zones: ecosystem value and preservation tools (3.25pm-3.55pm)

ST17: Micro-pollution, urban sewage networks and sewage back-up (3.25pm-3.55pm)

ST18: Management of protected areas and climate change (3.25pm-3.55pm)

ST19: Renewable marine energy and impacts on marine habitats (3.25pm-3.55pm)
