Rampion Offshore Wind Farm 'Meet the Buyer' event, 26th February 2014, Amex Stadium Brighton

E.ON will be hosting a Rampion Offshore Wind Farm 'Meet the Buyer' event at the Amex Stadium, Brighton on Wednesday 26th February 2014. Registration opens at 9:30 am with the event kicking off at 10.00am.

Spaces are on a first come first served basis and are going fast with priority for companies based in East and West Sussex, Kent, Surrey and Hampshire. Be sure to register soon if you don't want to be disappointed.

The aim of the event is to inform local businesses of potential opportunities that could arise from the construction and operation of the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm project, should it receive consent later in 2014.

The event is free to attend with a conference style programme in the morning and interactive breakout focus group sessions in the afternoon.

Speakers include E.ON, a major wind turbine supplier, Marine South East, Grant Thornton, Coast2Capital and Locate East Sussex.

Delegates will be able to meet other local businesses, prospective Tier 1 contractors and project and procurement staff from E.ON's Rampion Project Team.

Session 3 - Supply chain contract packages: Focus Groups

The afternoon will comprise four interactive breakout sessions which will look in more detail at the core packages, offering further information on the sub-packages that are required to deliver the following core packages and where local companies might fit into the supply chain:

A - Turbines - Wind turbine supplier, TBC

B - Offshore balance of plant (foundations, cables and offshore substations) - Naren Mistry, Rampion Offshore Engineering Manager

C - Onshore infrastructure - Ian Baker Rampion Grid/OFTO System Manager and Richard Carpenter, Rampion Onshore Cable Package Manager

D - Operations and maintenance - Pete Andrews, Rampion Operations Manager and Jon Beresford, Humber Gateway Operations Manager, E.ON

At the end of the day delegates will receive a form from E.ON, which should be completed by delegates to identify the specific packages they are most interested in and believe they could contribute to. These will subsequently be considered by E.ON and its Tier 1 Contractors, once appointed, to seek to maximise local involvement in the project.

The event is particularly suitable for businesses located in East and West Sussex, Kent, Surrey and Hampshire who think they might be able to supply products and services to support the construction and/or operations and maintenance of the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm.

The event is especially applicable for civil engineering companies, general engineering companies and marine businesses.
