UKTI Shipbuilding Trade Mission to Navalshore Brazil, 11th-16th August 2013

UK Trade & Investment invite companies to explore the opportunities in the shipbuilding industry in Brazil by attending their Trade Mission to NavalShore, one of the major shipbuilding exhibitions in Brazil and to take part in a programme of visits to Recife and Rio de Janeiro 11th -16th August 2013.

Over the last 10 years, Brazil has been investing in public policies and programmes to foster the recovery of its shipbuilding industry. In addition, coastwise shipping, the demand from Oil& Gas companies, for FPSOs, oil tankers and other types of support vessels as well as big companies such as Vale for Bulk Carrier Vessels contribute to boost the development of the sector. In 2012, orders to Brazilian shipyards totalled more than 400 vessels.

The Brazilian industry and government wish to attract world class players in the commercial marine supply chain, starting with basic parts and equipment and aiming for local production of large complex items in the medium term.

There are huge opportunities in Brazil for UK marine companies. NavalShore presents a great networking opportunity for UK companies to meet Brazilian ship owners and shipyard management executives. Companies can also use the opportunity of attending the event to do a wider programme in Brazil. To meet the different needs of UK companies, UKTI has put together a package of support at the show which includes:

1. Exhibiting at the show;
2. Visiting the show and doing a programme of meetings organised by UKTI;
3. Taking part in a programme of meetings in Recife and in Rio de Janeiro.

Companies have the flexibility to choose the options that best meet their needs.

The full programme is as follows:

11/08 - Arrive in Recife.
12/08 - Recife. Visit shipyards and fly to Rio in the evening.
13/08 - Rio de Janeiro. Briefing at the British Consulate and meetings.
