Marine South East at European Open Days 21st/22nd May 2012

MSE has been working closely with its international partners to build a strong presence at the European Maritime Days event in Gothenburg (Sweden) on 21st/22nd May 2012.

This event is hosted by DG Maritime and provides a forum for business leaders, academics and policy makers to explore maritime growth potential.

Under the current Commissioner, Maria Damanaki, a strong focus of the annual event has been on the high growth maritime markets such as marine energy, aquaculture, environment and security.

On the 2nd day of the event, a programme of workshops allows in-depth discussion and networking between delegates.

MSE is delighted to be involved in running two of these workshops: one will examine the global market for aquaculture and its supporting infrastructure; and the other will highlight how regional centres of marine & maritime capability can stimulate investment in innovation, skills and growth. These workshops are drawing heavily on MSE's leadership of the EMSAC project (European Marine Science Applications Consortium).
