Articulating the UK's Maritime Research Priorities, 18th January 2012, London

Wednesday 18 January 2012
America Square Conference Centre, Crosswall, London EC3N 2LB

Industry and academia are invited to an event to hear from the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl – part of the UK Ministry of Defence) and the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) about their science & technology (S&T) research priorities and plans in the maritime field. The event is being organised jointly by the Defence Special Interest Group in conjunction with the Transport Knowledge Transfer Network, and the Dstl Programme Office Maritime and Strategic Systems Domain.

On the day, the agenda will include workshop sessions to allow attendees to contribute to the debate on how to stimulate further innovation in the maritime sector and collaboration between the defence and non-defence sectors.

The event aims to provide insight into the MOD and TSB marine innovation, science and technology strategies to engage the broadest possible range of contributors across all sectors, it is not an exclusively Marine event. MOD will provide visibility of its Maritime research goals and explain how to engage in future research calls.

Pre-Event Dinner at Thai Square

On the 17th January, the Defence SIG will coordinate a dinner at Thai Square Restaurant at London Minories. Places for dinner are limited to 50 and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Dinner costs £50.00 + VAT per person, which will include a five course Thai meal, half a bottle of wine and a drink (glass of wine or beer) upon arrival.
