South Coast Maritime Board to feed into newly formed LEP's

The first meeting of the South Coast Maritime Board, comprising senior directors of twelve maritime businesses, will take place on Friday 7th October 2011 at the Marine South East premises on Southampton Science Park.

This Board has been established to identify the industry's growth priorities in the South, and equally the barriers to investment which need to be addressed. These recommendations will be presented to the Solent LEP and Coast-to-Capital LEP, both of whom have welcomed the Board's creation and future role.

The Board will also provide the 'regional' input to the newly-launched national Marine Industry Growth Strategy, and ensure that the needs of smaller businesses across the whole industry are fully reflected in the Strategy's implementation.
