Increasing the Competitiveness of Europe's Marine & Boat Building Industry 17th January 2011, Brighton

How to attract investments in the proximity of ports to boost regions’ economies.

The Ports Adapting to Change (PATCH) project partners are hosting a networking Business to Business event on the theme of increasing the competitiveness of Europe`s marine & boat building industry.

The event will take place in Brighton at the Thistle Hotel
on Monday, 17th January 2011 from 09:30 until 16:30.

The aim of the event is to discuss the opportunities and constraints for growth for the marine industry,
including the need for skills, research and innovation and
the challenge for business collaboration to support supply chains.

The event will be followed by a tour of the port of Newhaven.


The event, aimed at supporting agglomeration for the marine sector and stimulating increased economic development of maritime clusters, will provide private sector professionals, knowledge institutions, public sector authorities from England, Belgium, France, the Netherlands and other EU countries with the opportunity to jointly debate issues affecting the maritime economy for the next 10-20 next years.

Participants will be able to draw on expertise and intellectual capital of some first class guest speakers and industry experts, find new customers and suppliers and have access to contacts in key business support organisations and educational institutions .
