BMEA Trade Mission to Korea, Saturday 16th February to Saturday 23rd February 2008

BMEA is proud to present another trade mission to the world’s leading Shipyards in Korea.

The mission to Korea will embrace the world's three largest Shipbuilders - Hyundai Heavy Industries, Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering and Samsung Heavy Industries as well as Hyundai Mipo, STX and Hanjin.

Both Daewoo and Samsung have indicated to BMEA the amount of UK equipment purchased has doubled in the last year or so, particularly in respect of their tanker and LNG newbuilds.

With excellent support from the Commercial Section of the British Embassy in Seoul, BMEA along with the missioners has developed a close rapport with the leaders of the Shipyards and the leaders of the procurement teams over the last six years. As a result, the meetings with the yards have been finely tuned and highly focused, whereby they produce timetables for the companies to carry out one to one meetings with the relevant procurement teams who purchase your type of equipment, usually in private rooms at the Design and Engineering offices in the Shipyards.

For those companies that have products which span both the commercial and military field, and those who supply entirely military equipment, we are able to arrange one to one meetings with the procurement teams involved in the building of Korean surface ships and submarines.
