BMEA logos

From Monday 3rd- to Friday 7th March 2008 UK marine equipment manufacturers and service companies are invited to join the BMEA outward trade mission to Turkish shipbuilding and repair yards.

Turkey is a growing shipbuilder and ship repairer. Turkish private sector dockyards aim to reach 1 million tonnes of steel fabrication per year as well as 2 million deadweight of ship construction and 10 million deadweight of maintenance and repair capacity.

The Turkish Shipbuilding Association (GISBIR) is the prominent body in Turkey representing some 40 yards. Approximately 34 yards are in the Tuzla Bay region and we will visit a number of these, embracing the new build commercial and military yards, plus superyachts.

Turkey is particularly strong at providing good quality repair and maintenance to worldwide Ship owners at reasonable costs and, therefore, we will also visit the repair and conversion yards.

To obtain a copy of the booking form and programme please contact Matilda Noble BMEA Secretary (Tel: 020 7928 9199, Fax: 020 7928 6599, Email: bmea@maritimeindustries.org). Places will be restricted - first come first served!
