Business link logo

SE-Women is a project designed to release the untapped potential of women who are under-utilised in the workforce. By investing in supporting women so that they are better represented in senior management roles and progress in their careers, the project seeks to contribute to the overall productivity and competitiveness of the South East of England.

The project offers a comprehensive and tailored portfolio of high-quality mentoring and coaching services for aspiring female leaders and managers. This service will be delivered by 50 trained mentors and coaches operating in a centrally supported regional network. The project is due to run until March 2008 and is being offered free to those interested.

The project aims to:
- Support 100 women mentees to progress into senior management and leadership roles within South East-based businesses by providing them with mentoring/coaching services that help them realise their career progression objectives.
- Identify the barriers to female career progression within the South East labour market through direct engagement with the project beneficiaries.
- Encourage more women to progress into senior management and leadership roles within South East-based businesses through the development and wider promotion of a pool of positive role models and case studies and the widespread promotion of the network's services.

Who is eligible?
- Mentors - individuals (both female and male) who have worked in senior positions for privately-funded small to medium-sized enterprises (1-249 employees) based in the South East, with experience of leadership and a desire to share their expertise to assist women into leadership positions.
- Mentees - female managers working for privately-funded small to medium-sized enterprises (1-249 employees) based in the South East, who face barriers to progression into senior management and leadership positions.
