Royal visit to Portsmouth-based McMurdo recognises innovation in the industry

McMurdo

His Royal Highness The Duke of York visited the headquarters of emergency location beacon manufacturers McMurdo Ltd in December. The Duke was shown the latest life-saving equipment and was introduced to staff in the factory and design offices.

The Duke’s walk-about took him through the assembly areas where the SmartFind EPIRBs and the FastFind personal locator beacons are produced, and he also received a demonstration of the Man Over Board (MOB) Guardian, a new lifesaving system aimed at commercial fishing boats which has been launched in a joint initiative with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

The Duke of York was visiting the company to witness first hand the range of products that has helped to place the South East marine industry at the heart of innovation in the marine industry.
