Creating Business Opportunities from Waste Fishing Nets, 28th May 2020, 4pm GMT online

This webinar will share the findings of a report into new thinking on Circular Business Models and Circular Design related to waste fishing gear.

As part of the EC funded Blue Circular Economy(BCE) project, The Centre for Sustainable Design at Business School for the Creative Industries at UCA and Anois have authored a report that provides an update on EC's Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) developments, and new thinking on Circular Business Models and Circular Design related to (waste) fishing gear.

This webinar will share the findings of the report and provide an opportunity to ask questions.

Blue Circular Economy is funded by Northern Periphery & Arctic (NPA) Programme (European Regional Development Fund) that is being organised between 2018-2021). Free mentoring on eco-innovation related to waste fishing gear is available for eligible companies with less than 250 employees based in the NPA region (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland west coast of Republic of Ireland, northern areas of Scotland, Northern Ireland (except for Belfast), Greenland and Faroe Islands). SETsquared Scale-up Innovation Workshop, 9th and 10th June 2020, Online

SETsquared have redesigned their popular workshop to suit the online environment and it will now be delivered across two days.

Hands on and interactive, this fully-funded programme, is designed for growing companies seeking to develop their products, services and innovations.

The session on 9th June will be in the morning and 10th will be in the afternoon.

Delivered with partners Strategyzer, creators of the Business Model Canvas, this programme is designed to help participants explore where their current business model can be developed and refined to create new opportunities to accelerate growth.

During the course participants will review their current business environment, customers' needs and assess opportunities to develop strategies with academic support as part of the SETsquared Scale-Up programme. The outcome will be a developed business model with a greater potential for investment and growth.

As well as the two half day workshops, there is a requirement to attend two webinars. The first one introduces the Business Model Canvas and the second introduces the concept of testing assumptions.

The workshop is fully-funded (free) and will help businesses evaluate their current business and identify new opportunities for growth and innovation.
