UK Marine suppliers sign up for the UKTI Meet the Buyer event at Seawork...

The UKTI Meet the Buyer at Seawork is the ideal opportunity for UK marine suppliers to meet with international buyers from overseas commercial boat builders. The event is organised by the British Commercial Boatbuilders Association (BCBA).

SEEDA Launch New Advanced Materials for Challenging Environments Knowledge Network...

SEEDA have launched a new Knowledge Network covering Advanced Materials for Challenging Environments (AMCEKN).

The overall objective of the Network is to bring South East businesses and the UK knowledge base together, to exploit research opportunities, catalyse collaboration and bring more innovation to market in the field of ‘advanced materials for challenging environments’.

The Network will work closely with the South East Sector Consortia, particularly Marine, Aerospace, Envirobusiness, Space, Healthcare and the Built Environment.

Schools Marine Challenge 2010 - Race Day June 24th 2010 Bluewater, Kent...

Delivered in partnership with the British Marine Federation, Lloyd's Register and Engineering Your Future, the Schools Marine Challenge race day for the South East will be taking place at Bluewater in Kent on June 24th 2010.

New for this year has been invitations to primary schools local to the event to come along and get involved. The Primary Schools will have the opportunity to assemble and run a solar powered boat on the day.

Limited spaces left in the British Pavilion at SMM Hamburg September 2010...

The world leading trade fair for the shipbuilding, machinery and maritime technology sectors, SMM, will open its doors again to 2,000 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors from 7 - 10 September 2010 in Hamburg http://www.hamburg-messe.de/smm/smm_en/start_main.php

Innovation and trends, the latest research and products focusing on greener shipping will be amongst the many exhibits from engines to safety gear, and from communication and navigation devices to ship operation equipment and electric equipment to name just a few sectors of the show.

Two spaces are left in the British Pavilion for companies that wish to showcase their products or services. Funding might be available from UKTI

Match-making workshop for French/UK marine company jv's and collaborations Wednesday June 16th 2010...

French organisation Pole Mer PACA and Marine South East are holding a match-making workshop in Southampton on the afternoon of 16th June, to identify potential for collaborations or joint ventures between French and UK marine companies.

Topics of particular interest include: underwater sensor and vehicle (ROV, AUV) technology; software advances in image processing, bathymetry and hydrodynamics; marine coatings and anti-fouling solutions; maritime security ICT solutions; underwater structural protection and repair.

WATTS 2010 conference: Just one week to go - the REA’s premier marine event of the year! 16th June, Seawork exhibition...

The REA’s wave and tidal symposium has been running since 2003. This year we are reaching out to a wider audience. The REA is collaborating with Seawork, to introduce the established marine industries to the latest developments in ocean renewables. WATTS 2010 will showcase the achievements and plans of the UK’s vibrant marine renewables industry, at an event which regularly attracts around six thousands buyers, sellers, innovators and legislators from across the globe.

Marine South East under its Wind of the Coast (WICO) project will be hosting a workshop on Thursday 17th June 2010 at the Seawork exhibition looking at the opportunities for marine businesses to install small scale onshore wind energy systems.
